Try typing in GOURANGA in on your search engine. You will find the answer as a Krishna message for peace. Why people have bothered to write it on almost every motorway bridge beats me - they must be either mad or totally dedicated to hang over the edge.........

In some cities contained in the united kingdom i have encountered gouranga 'monks' asking for money in go back for a badge or some thing which says 'gouranga'. you're then inspired to shout out Gouranga. that's portion of the Hare Krishna flow. some info lower than from Wikipedia. the position the money is going, i do not extremely understand, I remember giving this form of adult men some quid on a walk abode through the city centre even as very lower than the impression of alcohol one evening! Gouranga, or Gauranga, is declared to originate contained in the Hare Krishna non secular flow, whose founder, Shri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu, develop into referred to as Gaura, or Gauranga. In common custom that's time-honored typically as a word meaning basically 'sense free', notwithstanding the literal Sanskrit translation is 'gentle/golden-limbed'. Stickers bearing the word Gouranga or affirming "call out Gouranga and sense free!" were appearing on bridges over motorways and railways in Scotland and the North of britain, (and better those days the entire of the united kingdom) It has also acknowledged on public homes over present day years, and stickers and refrigerator magnets with the word have also been handed out through Hare Krishna monks at song gala's in the technique the united kingdom, which comprise Glastonbury and receive. ---------

You know those hari krishna dudes who stop you in the street and ask you to say guranga and everyone avoids them like the plague? (apparently it means be happy). I think writing it on motorway bridges is perhaps a new marketing ploy....

I learned years ago that it supposedly means "be happy". Maybe it's some kind of road rage stress calming measure... Not that it works!
