Yes. It will continue to be ignored. We are being taken over from within. The Mexican government knows this and encourages it's citizens to illegally enter the U.S. The only reason it's tolerated by politicians is that U.S. Company's will continue to have a source of cheap labor. Think about it, they don't pay these people even the minimum wage. They receive no benefits. They are paid under the table so they also collect welfare benefits. 75% of the country want the borders closed, but the politicians continue to fiddle while the country burns. At this rate, we will become North Mexico within 40 years.

That is gonna be one of the first things the new congress does in 2007, give amnesty to the illegals here now, give them Social Security on past wages made illegally and this is 1 issue that George Bush will not veto. That is why nothing happened with illegal immigration because the Republicans you just voted out didn't want to give the illegals amnesty, and George Bush couldn't bring himself to send the illegals home. I think he is wrong about this one!!

Its never been ignored in my state of Arizona. We are already looking into more propositions to stop the give away of entitlements to illegals in my state.AZ deals with it every day 365 days a year.
I see some of you are living in a dream world.reality will hit you hard pretty soon. There will be no blanket amnesty.
A guest workers program for some but not all.Its not going to happen right away. The government works very slowly. To the government the illegals are way down on their "to do" list. The war will be addressed first. Mark my word on that.People didn't vote for illegal anything. They voted against the war,Bush and republicans. They voted against the incumbents. Not for illegal aliens.

i don't think of the difficulty is a political ploy. that is real difficulty which impacts each citizen and legal resident in this united states. I do even with the undeniable fact that think of that the politicians are skirting around the topics for his or her own motives. they want the "minority" vote of the Hispanic human beings, yet additionally they like to maintain the votes of others so as that they skirt the topics and don't likely do something to resolve the difficulty. in certainty, if people who're hungry, ravenous and desperate can get here and stay below the radar of immigration, so can a terrorist. it is likewise abhorrent that those people who're here to assist and shop their family individuals could artwork and stay in inhumane circumstances.... Is that incredibly what we want? in certainty they don't seem to be taking jobs that individuals won't take, they're working in circumstances that individuals won't stand for. we've rights and all of us are conscious of it, they have none through fact they're here illegally. Politicians do not prefer to nicely known this through fact they're attempting too puzzling to make all and sundry happy so as that they might get re-elected. Who cares approximately upholding the regulation!!! that is why those persons are referred to as unlawful Immigrants. we are a rustic of immigrants, and that i've got faith that maximum human beings welcome people who come here legally to strengthen their lives.

No. The problem still exists. This isn't some cute topic to debate around election time. The people haven't forgotten and hopefully they won't let their representatives forget either. We don't want amnesty---We want LEGAL immigration! Deport the invaders!

Actually, with this congress it is likely to be the ONLY thing Bush wants to do that he will think he might be able to succeed at. I anticipate new bills in January.

Good question. Those sneaky Republicans were trying to use race & immigration issues to try to get the "racist" vote, and like usual scapegoating Mexican immigrants. Unfortunately for them, it didn't work. Most voting Americans were more interested in other issues like ending the Iraq War pronto!!!
