A lot like having a flu bug you cannot shake and general malaise. When my cousin had it (age 6) she developed bruises that did not heal. She had a test done on a Friday for the cancer with negative results, another on Monday and it was positive. She is now 16 and in remission for years. Good luck.

The first symptoms of leukemia are sometimes nonspecific. They may occur with other cancerous as well as noncancerous disorders. Although signs and symptoms vary for each type of leukemia, there are some general features. Broad symptoms of leukemia may include:

Fatigue
Malaise (vague feeling of bodily discomfort)
Abnormal bleeding
Listed below are some of the symptoms of leukemia and the beginning symptoms are
Excessive bruising
Weakness
Reduced exercise tolerance
Weight loss
Bone or joint pain
Infection and fever
Abdominal pain or "fullness"
Enlarged spleen, lymph nodes, and liver

Chronic leukemia often goes undetected for years until it's identified in a routine blood test. almost one in five chronic leukemia patients have no symptoms at the time of their diagnosis. Most symptoms of acute leukemia are caused by a lack of normal blood cells due to overcrowding of the blood-forming bone marrow by leukemia cells.
