No; why waste love on ingrates? If you do that, you will not be able to love someone who deserves it with the intensity (s)he deserves.

No it's not natural. It's one of the hardest things in the world to do. I guess to a point it would place you at their mercy. But hey, no one said living the life God asks is easy!

No, it is the only worthwhile response...
"He who abuses his abuser is the worse of the two. To refrain from retaliation is to win a battle hard to win. If one knows that the other person is angry but refrains from anger oneself, one does what is best for oneself and the other person also. One is a healer of both"
- Buddha -
"Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love, this is the eternal rule"

No it is not natural. That is the point if we believe only in that which is natural that is all we are. Christians believe that there is more than this world and these things are spiritual and come with faith. Our faith should demonstrate itself in the way we live our lives.

The admonition here is: don't retaliate with hatred or anger because then you perpetuate hate and anger.
It makes perfect sense to me.

Loving those that hurt us isn't easy or natural. We need God's love in our hearts to forgive & love those who hurt us or ours.
