I live in an apartment complex and a young Hispanic couple lives next door to me. We usually have nice conversations and go on our merry way. Well I walked out one morning and the husband introduced me to some of his friends, without her being there and he called me his "sancha" to his friends. Well, being white he thought I didn't know/speak any Spanish, but I do know some Spanish and I do know that "Sancha" means mistress or woman on the side in Spanish. Why would a married man tell someone I was his Sancha when I am definitely not! It hurt my feelings because I thought we were friends!

No, I didn't already ask and also I just thought it was disrespectful to his wife. He would never have said that if she had been there.

Sancha....you are reading way way way too much into this. He was being funny to his friends.....I don't give him any points for bad timing......You should have replied "I have a sancho with a real job"......end of story. Move on

It sounds like he was kidding. All cute guys are my sanchos, even if I don't know who they are. It's just a joke.
