nope, breathing is part of the autonomic system, your brain will make you breathe, and if you aren't getting enough oxygen, it will wake you up and make you find oxygen by uncovering yourself.

No. You won't get brain damage either. There's usually a gap for air to get in anyhow.

I have been sleeping that way in the Wintertime since I was 12. I'm 44 now.

If you stop breathing , yes will sufficate! It not very good for you, when you put the blanket over you head you are breathing the same air over and over again. Not good. Try not to do that.....ok?
