You can wash your kitten in a anti-bacterial dish soap, all you are doing is drowning the fleas, when you use the flea shampoo

First of all, kittens should never be sold or purchased... you should always go and visit your local animal shelter. Next one, this is a scary one: He assured you that the kitten was flea-free and dewormed. If I was you, I would take that kitten to the vet, have a complete blood and stool job. I am sure that they have a product safe enough for very young kittens. Good luck, and next time don't be so impulsive. Kittens and puppies are very cute, but they are a lot of work and your vet bills will soar after a while.

Taking the cat to a vet is not an option? Why is that? He'll need shots and neutered. I would NEVER use an over the counter flea meds on my cats. They have been known to poison and kill pets! Plus they do not kill 100% of the fleas and eggs! You need a vet prescribed flea treatment, you may not have to pay for a vet visit, just bring him in to be weighed and then get the proper dose. You should also bring in the other cat and buy flea meds for him too. Fleas don't like human blood, so they will avoid them when ever possible, but they do like to hitch rides on us.

You can try a different store there are stores that sell flea shampoo for kittens. You can use dish soap if you really need to. Just make sure that it is kitten flea spray not dog spray there is a big difference. They have some powders out there for fleas that you just put on their coat and rub in it may not work as well as the shampoo but it will work for now at least. They do sell flea powders for kittens under 12 weeks, check a walmart. Then also get a flea collar. And in the same isle in Walmart they sell flea powder for your carpet you can put it in your carpet and then vacuum it up but if it's just one cat unless it's been like 30 cats totally infested with fleas they won't infest your carpets or anything like that. You can use dawn dish degergent on brand new kitten just make sure the water isn't cold and don't soak them it's what they used to clean oil off of animals during oil spills. And you might want to wash your other cats just in case. If I see one flea on any of my cats I just wash them all. They can get it even if they aren't around any other animals completely. My cats are on a porch upstairs but they people down stairs have outside dogs and the fleas can jump. Good luck!

You can use Frontline at 8 weeks old.
Just because you've seperated them does not mean your other cat won't get them. If the kitten is in the house, the fleas may get into the carpet, furniture etc. If that happens, you'll need to use a good flea bomb a couple of times to get rid of them.

Well, I know dawn dish detergent works well. You may have some kitty cat scratches on your arms when you are done, but it works. Make sure you don't get it in its eyes though. Another thing: Make sure you have a flea comb. The fleas will move to the cats head when you start to bath the little guy. You use the flea comb to remove the fleas from its body and put them in a cup or bowl with water & dish detergent. Good Luck!

you should continually take a clean puppy to the vet interior of 40 8 hrs. purely to have them well-being checked. A undemanding exam fee will cover them checking her from nostril to tail. The vet will pay interest to the middle, examine the ears, eyes, nostril, teeth, gums, fur, skin, joints, each and every thing. and they'll inform you what to apply on the fleas. Frontline is an outstanding product and may nicely be used on kittens. yet be careful. Kittens are small an human being dose might want to reason serious well-being complications.

In a 16 ounce bottle, I mix 1 to 2 ounces of Neem oil,emu oil and/or jojoba oil, some extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil and just a few drops or half a dram of tea tree oil, To this, I add a tablespoon of golden seal extract. I fill the rest of the bottle 1/2 with organic white vinegar and water. I mix all ingredients well and massage the mixture into the entire surface of the skin or just the affected areas. I do NOT rinse. l usually do this once or twice a week, depending on the severity of the skin condition or flea outbreak. ( The only drawback is the tea tree oil's strong odor.).

Why the hell is taking the kitten to the vet not an option? You shouldn't be allowed to keep cats.
