As with all of the cross breds, each pup may take more of either parent's qualities. Most of the cockapoos do take on the low shedding poodle coat, but you can never be really sure that they don't have the cocker quality coat that sheds more..
Bathing depends on the dog's lifestyle. If he is outdoors more, he will need more frequent baths to remain a nice smelling housepet. Also, if the carpeting needs cleaned, he will also need more frequent baths..Also, the coat color makes a difference.. Dark hair sheds dirt more than white hair, so the darker, the less baths needed..However, for healthy skin and coat, bathing should be limited to no more than monthly, and daily brushing will keep it much cleaner..Every six weeks at the groomer will usually keep a cockapoo very nice, with regular brushing at home.

A crossbred Cocker Spaniel/Poodle is also known as a Cockerpoo.
It looks like the Cockerpoo willl cast some hair but probably not very much.
The Cockerpoo Club of America says that:
"The Cockapoo derives from the Poodle its extraordinary intelligence and non shedding coat. (Realistically, no dog exists that does not shed, so a better term would be low-shed.) When combed and brushed, some hair does come out, but it is not likely that you will find dog hairs on the carpet, etc. Because the Poodle is commonly referred to as non shedding, this term will be used. Likewise, there is very little dander, which is the main culprit in allergies to dogs. This makes the Cockapoo the ideal choice for those who have problems with allergies. "
There's even a standard for them:
http://www.americancockapooclub.org/standard.html
And as for how often you should wash it - this site has a Cockapoo grooming section - packed with loads of information
http://www.napcb.org/grooming.htm
it says:
"We are often ask
how often a Cockapoo should be bathed.
There is no simple answer.
If your Cockapoo appears dirty...
or is beyond your comfort level....
it's time for a nice warm bath"
So in other words, wash it when it is dirty or smelly!

In the winter, you should not wash a dog more than every three weeks b/c it will cut down the number of essential oils that keep their skin and coat healthy as well as moisturized.
I have a poodle/lab mix (not quite what you asked) but it does shed, the shedding just isn't as noticeable as when a lab sheds. It tends to pile up in the carpet or around in corners on my hardwoods. The poodle we had in college did the same thing. It's just finer fur so you can't see it as clearly as some other breeds. As long as you keep up with vaccuuming and sweeping, you should be fine!

Usually, that's too long for me. I believe it depends on the guy and also his face though. Certain guys may pull off long hair and other people can't.

Bathing...as needed..just use a good quality mild shampoo and conditioner.
Grooming..every 4-6 weeks...these dogs will get matted and need daily combing and regular grooming. If you keep the dog trimmed down real short, you could probably push the grooming to every 2 months ,but no more than 3.

Neither of those breeds lose much of their hair and they have to be groomed properly, so the chances are your cross-breed dog will not cast hair but will grow all wavy and woolly, depending on which genes from the parents dominate. You should brush the dog everyday and bath it only when it gets very dirty, muddy or smelly.
