I've been researching getting a private pilot's licence myself. My father is doing it in Nevada and said it has cost him about 4 grand total. I have done my own research and found that in Florida, where I currently live, it is also about 4 thousand ($3,900). This price includes the books, testing fees, a flight instructor, the and the fee for the rental of the plane. The course is self paced so the total length depends on how busy your schedule is. The price may very depending on where you live, but it's probably pretty close to 4 thousand. Hope this helped

Really depends on where you wanna get your licence from. And what type of licence you are looking for.
Private (plane or Helicopter) or Commercial
A private licence (for a plane) should cost you in the region of $3 000.00 (USD)

I paid $7,000 US. and that was a Private pilot's. they're not cheap, but if you have the money, and have the need, go for it.
