By Christian logic, yes. But that's a terrible, horrible thing to say to a grieving family. Incredibly cruel.

When my cousin died, some idiot told my aunt that she went to hell because she wasn't baptised. And, when my sister put something into my cousins coffin, the same idiot told my aunt that if she didn't remove the item, my sister would be taken down to hell with my cousin.

Horrible horrible thing to say. My aunt lost it and it took two days to calm her down enough to allow the item to go back into the coffin for the funeral itself. My sister wanted it in there (it was something that had my sister and my cousins picture on it that they had taken a year before my cousin died). So cruel.

And Christians always talk about how sweet and caring they are. What kind of person says that to a grieving mother? Someone that needed her butt kicked, that's who.

Especially when the mother is a Catholic herself. It absolutely terrified her. She didn't baptise her because she believes (rightly) that it should be up to the person to decide if they want to be baptised or not. And my cousin hadn't yet made that decision (she was 17).

Ok, so why do I have two thumbs down after relating something this terrible? Do you think it's ok to act that way or something?

No, because they are under the age of accountability ( knowing right from wrong ), Also I personally do not believe a person has to be baptized to go to heaven at all. I think baptism is an outward show of an inner work. If a person had to be baptized the there would be no one saved in the eleventh hour.
And I can think of one very important instance where this is true : When Jesus was on the cross with the two thieves he told the one who asked for forgivness " today you will be with me in heaven" I didn't hear any mention of him being baptized before he died. But I do feel if possible you should be baptized to show the world you have changed and have accepted god into your heart

No, baptizing babies is a ritual that many believe that they are going to heaven because they were baptized as an infant. Infants have no clue what it is all about.
You need to understand what the meaning behind it and obey the word of God when it come's to baptizing.
Jesus was not baptized as a baby. John the Baptist was not baptizing infants.
All babies will go to heaven.

This question is wide open as many faiths believe differently. I am a Christian and believe that all children go to heaven when they pass on. The Lord is loving and kind. We are all God's children and thus belong with our Father in heaven. If you have a bible read Matthew 18:3-5. To further conclude that babies do not got to hell is the story of King David whose son dies after only 7 days on earth. King David is assured in Psalms 23 that he will meet his son again when he is in the Kingdom of God. Hope this helps!

Depends on the belief.

If God is willing to let babies to go to Hell to suffer for not believe in him, then that's not a very nice god. And if God has such disdain for life, then what makes you think he holds honesty as a virtue? Thus, you have no guarantee that God would allow believers into Heaven.

On the other hand, if God recognizes that a baby has no say in the matter and allows the baby to avoid Hell, then what favor is mankind doing by teaching Christianity? Better to live in ignorance and have a guarantee of missing Hell than the learn the truth and have an opportunity to reject the truth and suffer Hell.

For those that believe that babies cannot go to Hell, is that a good argument for allowing abortion? Would it be better to give the baby a good start in Heaven than to give the child a chance to grow up in poverty or into a family that doesn't want him?

Innocent who dies before being baptized is not guilty of anything It is only the reiligions who created that idea. If God is claimed to be the owner of our souls then no one is responsible to take the child back except the owner and then will give the soul again to someone He chooses to receive it. There is no harm however for the dead child to be blessed by any religion if your superstition is putting fear on you as to where the child will go.

No. No No... baptism is something we must choose for ourselves, and must be old enough to understand what it means to be able to make that choice.
A baby cannot choose to be baptized. They are innocent until the age of accountabiity, somewhere around 11 or 12.Noone knows for sure of that age, but when they are old enough to think for themselves and know enough to choose something so serious. there are relgions that baptize new babies, but it is not Biblical. No baby can be held accountible when they cant make the choices yet. PPL that preach that are in serious error, because they tell ppl who have lost babies they are lost. Does that sound like a loving GOD? NO. and its not His way. we either choose God or the devil, and its our choice to make. If we reject God, we abaondon God and choose the only other option which is the devil and hell. No baby can make that choice. so, all babies will be in heaven. absolutely. Isnt God good. all he time, God is good.

Absolutely not. Infant children have the purest of spirits.

There is much debate over this topic. Some say that during the years before they reach the age of reason (usually 7 years of age) infants and young children are automatically saved, therefore baptism is not necessary.
Some religious denominations do believe that unbaptized infants are doomed to eternal damnation, but my denomination believes in prevelant grace.

Run a search using "baptism of infants" and you'll get a wealth of articles and debates on the topic.

Baptism is not what get's you into heaven. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision to trust in Christ. It represents the burying of our sins and rising to live a new live and also portrays the death, burial and resurection of Christ.

Since a baby or small child cannot make a decision to accept Christ until they reach the age of understanding (no set age, depends on each childs maturity and develpment level) they will go to heaven if they die.

Hope this helps.

According to some Christian faiths, sects, probably yes. But the Bible seems to indicate this is not the case and there is an age of conscience. Jesus Himself said "Suffer not the little children not to come unto Me." He didn't say the baptized or the adults or even the teenagers, He said little children.

I am of The True Christian Faith... The Truth of God's Love is absolute to my Faith... I do not beleive that any one who has not reached the age of accountability is lost to hell... nor is any one who is mentaly incapable of understanding the Salvation message and accepting or rejecting God... this is not explicitly written in
God's word... But it is clearly implied in God's Love...

there is no Biblical justification for or against infant baptism... Baptism is a public demonstration of ones Salvation... it is not an act of Salvation in it's self... an infant or small child in not capable to make such a demonstration... so it has no other meaning except superstisious tradition to "baptize" an infant or small child.
