A dealership wants to sell me a 2004 Ford Mustang GT 40th Anniversary Edition with 36,000 miles for $16,000. By the way, this price is INCLUDING tax, fees, and a 60,000mi/4yr. bumper to bumper warranty.

Is this a good buy, reliable. What difference does it make if it is 40th anniv. edition.

THANKS!!!

Kelley Blue Book lists the retail value of that car at $17,800 in excellent condition. Get them to produce a carfax for you to make sure the vehicle was never wrecked or flooded and you may check the repair history. If you have any reservations take your mechanic with you or take the car to him for inspection before you purchase it. All those things being good sounds like a great deal.

Before you buy any vehicle, you should have your mechanic inspect it for any problems. It could be a clean car with no problems, but you never know. The best place to find out the value is the Kelly Blue Book which you should search by your area to see what it is going for. You should also do a CarFax report on the particular car to see its reported history which costs money but is worth it. Good luck!

I would say that it is an ok price, not great but not bad either.

The difference in the anniv. models is that they hold resale/collector value.
If I buy another Mustang, it will be an anniv. model.

If I were shopping, I would check Kbb.com and see what it says, then go back to the dealer and get the best deal I could!
