For months now I have had a problem digesting food. I have gone to the only place I can afford medical care (county health department) and they don't seem to know what they are doing.
I have loose stools most of the time, I have bm 4-5 times a day, sometimes having to get up from the dinner table to go to the bathroom. A lot of times I have severe pain before the bm. When I have to go, sometimes it creeps up on me and I can hardly make it to the bathroom. I can't take it anymore. I have tried changing my diet and that hasn't worked. Anyone else with this problem? What might it be and what else can I do for it? And yet I keep gaining more and more weight.
I'm afraid I may die one day from this if it's serious. I'm unemployed and poor and for some stupid reason I don't qualify for state medical aid. What can I do?????

It could be Celiac Disease. You can use the symptom checker at www.mayoclinic.com. If you suspect Celiac Disease, go to www.celiac.com and www.glutenfreeforum.com for more information.

Sounds like you have Irritable bowel syndrome. This is aggravated by stress. There are websites on managing IBS. Take an over the counter medicine like Immodium to slow the bowel down.
Although this won't make sense, it does work. Increase soluble fiber in your diet (psyllium seed like Metamucil), bran, whole wheat. This fiber will absorb the extra fluid in your guts and slow down the diarrhea.
Increase your water intake to help flush away the toxins that give you pain.
Avoid all caffiene as this irritates the bowel.
RE: Weight gain - start walking as exercise. Wear a pad in case your bowels act up. MOVE. MOVE. Your bowel will respond to the exercise the more you do it and it will help control your weight.
Use diaper rash prevention ointment or creme around your anus to prevent skin break down.
I have had this disease my whole life and I am not dead. It is just miserable but you can manage it.
Unemployed doesn't mean sitting around. Move, and see if you can get some courses or counselling to help your mood which will help your bowels.
You are NOT dying!
