Leave it on to warm up - washing up liquid and water works but it's easier to clean when its hot

Excellent question! I wish they made them with detachable grills!!! What I have done is to use the plastic spatula it came with to get off any loose stuff, then use a paper towel or cloth with some hot soapy water and wipe it down. Then I would tilt it on an angle at the edge of the sink and rinse under the tap being careful the whole time!!! Turn upside down and repeat process! Then dry with clean towel or paper towel! Lots of work!

as soon as you are finished with it, let it cool down then use a damp cloth and wipe over. Or go to Curry's and you can buy some special sponges with a non-scratch scourer on for the grills. Cost a couple of quid for two.

While it is still a little warm, but not hot - you should be able to touch the surface. Use a warm rag or paper towel and wipe clean. You can use a small amount of soap, but not so much that your rag is soapy.

Soon as you have finished using it, put a damp piece of kitchen towel in it and close the lid, then leave it to cool a bit.
Then remove the towel and the grease and crud will come away with it. Just wipe the plate with a dry piece of towel and thats it!

I clean mine while its still somewhat warm. Try using a few paper towels and clean the time first as it will fall to the bottom. Then clean the bottom by wiping top to bottom. NO soap needed.

=)

Just use some paper towels that are wet...no soap and wipe it down while it's still hot. Cleans up in a second!

I normally wipe it down immediately I have finished cooking with it, with a couple of piece of kitchen towel. Works a treat for me, never had to wash it, just polish it.
