I have beagles, they aren't realy tiny but they are great. They are very smart and easy to house train. You need to do research on them because a lot of little dogs like to bite more than the bigs dogs, they get the short dog complex I guess. Don't get a mini pin we had one and he bit everyone. Not hard, but we were always worried about the time when he would draw blood. I know that pugs are real sweet although they have health problems. The best dog I've ever had was a cocker spanial. they are less temporamental at least from what I've experienced. My dogs are cocker spanial beagle mix they are great. I had them house trained the first week I had them.

It depends on what you are looking for in a dog.
Chihuahua's: Big dog in a little body. Very loving and protective, for some people they are too protective.
French Bulldog: Loving does not need much exercises but are very stubborn.
Rat Terrier: Very playful they are a ball of energy. They are funny!
Toy Poodle: Mainly a one person dog (from the one I've seen) loving and requires a good bit of attention.
These are my personal favorite dogs!
Miniature Dachsund: They are very comical dogs and good watch dogs. They are very vocal and very stubborn.
Good Luck Finding a puppy!

Have you ever owned a dog?

I'm seeing JRT mentioned many times. I have a JRT mix. This is not a breed to be taken lightly. Not that any dog is, especially some of the terriers (I'm not condeming pits either, but they're not exactly "small dogs").

Why don't you take a peek at your local shelter and see which dog picks you out....could be love at first sight!

Teacup Yorkshire Terrier (or yorkie)
they're cute and small.
they fit in a bag so u can carry them around anywhere you want.
If you want u can even dress them up in clothes.
They stay small.
The maximum range of pounds they should gain is(depends which one u get) normally like 6-7 pounds.

I like yorkies the best. Mine is so small that I can crate her on the bed and she cant jump off. Plus she sleeps with us so she wont go to the bathroom there. It is so much better than putting her in a cage. Plus she likes it.

it really depends what you're lifestyle is, and how small you want to go.

a medium sized dog for someone with an active lifestyle is a beagle, they are very active and allways want to play.

a miniture schnouzer however, is very lazy, and is the kind of dog that will want to sleep on your lap
