it sounds like you are really thinking about this, and that is a good sign. you have to take the advice that people give you seriously, since a lot of people have gone through the same thing. maybe your school has an anger management group?

If you aren't connecting with your therapist, then seek a new one. Sometimes you have to meet a few before you find the right fit. There may be someone else in her practice that you could meet with, or she could give you a recommendation for someone else. It's fine to ask for a guy if you feel you'd be more comfortable talking to a guy. A good therapist won't be insulted or upset if you need to switch, they really want you to feel comfortable and get what you need out of it.

Intense reactions come from intense feelings - you're doing great in recognizing that you have an issue with the anger and that you want to get a handle on it now. It really does get harder as you get older. One thing to consider would be using a journal to write about episodes when you get angry and explode. If you aren't already aware of any patterns to your anger, this could help identify a pattern. For example, do you always seem to have an issue before a big test? or after a conversation with mom/dad about the future? or anytime you aren't in control of a situation?

Look into another therapist - some even use a sliding scale if you don't have insurance. Good luck to you!

Seek out a professional that you can trust, that really wants to help you. Looks like you need time to release. Make sure that you have time to relax, but you are never bored. Next time you are happy memorize every detail of what it feels like. Like if anyone was there, why you where happy, where you were, what you are wearing, what you were doing, what emotions where playing in your mind. All of this will help later on!So when you feel a rage coming on, replay all the memories you created. After awhile this will come natural. Just remember you have to deal with this now! (Later is too late) Good Luck and be happy :)

you are 16? and YOU are paying a therapist 600 dollars a session. hmmmm, I have problems with that statement, don't think it's 100% honest. At any rate, there are good therapists that don't charge nearly that much...suggest you find one you can work with that you don't feel is sucking you dry. There are also anger management classes available thru both hospitals and thru most court houses that you can attend as well.

you need to find something that relaxes you and a healthy way to get your anger out. if you used to play football, try going to the gym or get into kick boxing. taking drives really relaxes me.

go see and doctor and ask for help. You may need medicine to help you, it's nothing to be ashamed of. Just seek the help you need so you can feel better.
