I received an email saying that I won money through the Yahoo Lottery services from William Gerry. Is this legal or is it a prank?

Prank, you can't win lottery if you don't play. Lottery is a participatory thing.

More than a prank, it is a scam. They are wanting you to send THEM money or for you to provide them with bank account information.

Delete it.
