Hi, yes they go all the time! I deal in jeep cherokee spares. I had my own waterpump go at 100.000 miles then the new one 20.000 later. I can sell water pumps all day long. It would appear that some just aren't built like others.!!

Me!
Mine recently went out on my 1992 Jeep Cherokee just after I sold it to my brother. The factory pump lasted 220000 miles! Then the new one only 35,000. Weird isn't it, I guess that just means that they just don't make things like they used to. That's not the only thing that didn't last as long as the factory part hears a list:
Starter, belt, power steering pump, belt tentioner pully, and fuel pump.
I think I should just get a horse, then again with my luck it would get sick and die, then I would get a replacement and it would die three days later.

Had the impellers disintegrate. You might have the belt too tight.

if the replacement was a remanufactured unit that is probably why it failed so soon.
