tell her 2 make lists!!! i was so stressed out last wk. had to finish my personal statement, start revision for january modules, do normal work for my courses and still be awake and alert for work at the weekends.

Just make alot of lists - what you want to accomplish, when, break down large topics. With the personal statement BRAINSTORM!!! The first sentence is usually the hardest to think of. Try a quote maybe. But dont start with 'I' or 'My' eg, 'I would like to study.....' as it just sounds blah!!
Wish her gd luck frm me!!

I've just finished mine and I assure you unless she's an Oxbridge applicant shes still pretty early, if she was going to be an oxbridge applicant the closing date was the 15th Oct.

The best thing I advise is dedicating saturday morning to it, just put everthing else on hold, sit down with her and help her.

You need to be thinking about things like, why does she want to do that course? Why is she the best person to do this course? What does she have to offer? What are her achivements? Then try to end on a high. Its really easy once you start, just set aside some time and work through it.

Good Luck & I hope she gets to go where she wants ^_^

She's not that late, the people in the year above me in college are only writing theirs now, hopefully telling her this will de-stress her a bit and give her the motivation that she needs to start up her statement, I wish her the best of luck.

November is not late at all! I think I got mine in at Christmas (many moons ago!). The best advice I was given was keep it short. It's the same as a CV, people don't want to read pages and pages. Make sure she puts in all the relevant stuff, things that she does outside of school and any extra achivements etc. It would help to point out the relevance of each thing to tie in with what she wants to do. In my school the teachers had to proof read them before we were allowed to submit and they all told us to keep it short. Hope this helps

That's like asking someone here to write my resume. It's a personal statement from her mind and thoughts. She should definately describe her procrastination! She has to just do it!
