Weight loss and controling the accompanying insulin resistance syndrome are the only real "cures" for hirsuit women with PCOS. See an endocrinologist for medical treatment of the underlying conditions. Your doctor can also prescribe Vaniqa, a topical prescription medication for hair reduction. And taking birth control pills (estrogen based) usually helps.
If you lose weight the hair will be reduced permanently.
Don't shave the hair it will look stubbly coming in. Try threading at an Indian salon for the facial hair. It's inexpensive and works well with reduced hair growth. Try waxing for body areas.
Be careful of shaving. Shaving can cause hyperpigmentation (dark coloration) in women with PCOS.

I'd recommend using some depilatories that are designed for sensitive skin, especially for the face. Another option for the face would be to see a dermatologist about the prescription cream Vaniqua, which helps make the hairs finer in some folks, or reduces the hair growth in others.

You probably want to talk with you general practitioner and gynecologist about some hormone therapies for PCOS that can help with high testosterone levels - that may also trigger instances of hirsuitism in women. Even with diet, exercise and weight loss, your hormones may still be off balance. I was on birth control pills, which helped a little.

If you're able to save up some cash, I'd recommend getting laser hair removal - that made a difference for me.
