most men and women are not like that these days. me? i look for the man with the heart and not just if hes a "hottie". i'm a sucker for old fashioned romance. opened doors, flower(s) for no reason, stuff like that makes me melt.

Hmmm....isn't it funny how all the female's responses on here say how they all want a guy like that...???? Blah, blah, blah. Either they are full of BS, or you have found the last remaining ones on earth ! Equally interesting is how the guy's answers reflect more of how things exactly are. Like previously stated, women don't KNOW what they want. Give a woman EXACTLY what she wants and she'll change her mind. There ARE good guys that are 'out there', but granted we ARE few and far between ! There are SOOOOOO many undeserving women out there that either have or ruin 'good' guys. Women whine and complain about wanting a 'good guy', but when one DOES come along they don't see it. But let some loser cross their path and the fall all over the SOB.

I hate to sound so pessimistic, but the woman you are looking for no longer exists..........(if she does, she's not old enough to date yet.)

Oh, how fabulous!!! Can't I ship you over to South Africa? I promise you: that glass slipper will fit, even if I have to break every bone in my foot!

No seriously, guys like you are few and far apart! That's the way my dad and both my brothers are, but I can't go out with them, now can I? I just can't seem to find someone like them -or you- in SA. And it's not that I'm looking for someone who 'IS' my dad, but I won't mind if he had similar traits...

Really, my dear, I'll pay for you to come and be my prince... ;-)

Good luck to you!

First of all, boyfriend, you need to learn how to spell it: chivalry... Women today like what they have always liked: Someone who pays attention to them. As long as we feel like we're important to you, we will forgive a bunch of things. Ok, some examples; You see she drinks tea every evening..you notice that...you ask if she would like some tea one night before she makes it herself...simple, really. another: remember something you heard that you know she would be interested in; it could be a news event or a sale on red shoes, doesn't matter, what matters is that you say "Oh, I heard about such and such and I thought you would be interested...." That's all we want...a little attention...it's not always about getting us expensive jewelry! This is huge: Doing something you DO NOT LIKE because she likes it: maybe you don't like movies but you take her to one anyway. I promise she will pay you back (lets you watch sports instead of Gilmore Girls...)

Umm they want a challenge. You should still keep those qualities buddy, but let them know your the prize they deserve. Dont give away too much too fast let them earn your respect then your affection. Im not saying go jerk, just dont show you got a full house too soon in the game my friend

Women have not changed. You sound like what used to be called a gentlemen, rare treasure in today's society. When looking for your mate remember this saying....They only run when they are being chased.Things that are meant for you will come to you on their own...Wait and see...(I thought that chivalry was dead)

"Chivalry is dead. It was killed by feminists." - my friend Red

Dude, this is 2006. Women already live and work as equals — why not let them date as equals?
