The employer would have a case for firing the person for cause for making the unauthorized charge. That person could also be disqualified from receiving unemployment benefits because their termination would be for misconduct. Also, the person could also be open to criminal charges if they did not make immediate restitution.

The employer has a case against the employee. He/she embezzled $1500. They do not have a case against the company that supplied the goods/services. The employee was authorized to use that card by their employer. It's the employers' responsibility to distribute cards only to trustworthy employees, and to monitor those employees. Otherwise, I could take a company card, buy a car and let my employee pay the tab. Then I could move on to another job and repeat.

Whoever CHARGED an unauthorized $1,500 on a company credit card must make $5.25 an hour cause there is NO WAY I am gonna risk my job and benefits for a measley $1,500.

Silly rabbit.

Tricks are for kids.

Usually you have only 30 days from the time you receive the bill to dispute it. You could give it a try but I doubt that they would even consider it as it is too late for them to reverse the charge and recover them money from the Thailand company.

Yes. Your company has the right to make them pay it, and revoke the card. If they refuse to pay, then they can be sent to court and/or fired.
