With the recent development of psychology into a viable scientific field, and with the scientific knowledge that has been around for many years but is not closing the gaps, causing our society to finally become advanced enough to cause religion to decline, do you think that in the near or distant future believing in a religion will be classified as a mental illness?

This thought is primarily due to the hostility religion causes people to bring on others. It has many things in common with current mental illnesses.

I think it is a strong possibility that religion will be classified as a mental illness in the future. With the amount of scientific evidence against religion and existence of god increasing and society becoming more knowledgable about the lies spread by religion, it is a possibilty.

Atheists who say they don't have faith in God and traveling a internet site committed to the very situation they don't have faith in and you detect atheists the place he's stated and think of that they are sane? in case you do not have faith then why combat what you do not have faith exists? Do you talk this way approximately Santa, the Easter Bunny, Frosty the snowman, elves, fairies and such? There are web pages that talk those issues too. Do you apart from would visit those web pages or only the only's you declare do not exist yet nonetheless have faith in?

Not only that. According to the Bible, false religion--some T shirt says Bad Religion-- will be totally wiped out. Read chapters 17 & 18 Revelations.

I don't think so. Religion has been around for ages and ages, i think it's something that is a fundamental part of human nature. People need to have something to believe in, have faith in, regardless of whether it is scientific fact or not. I don't see this need diminishing at all.

I don't think so but who knows what will happen before it is proven incorrect. Look how they used to classified homosexuality. But if it does happen I can call in sick to work "I can't come in to work today since I am still religious." :D
