Sorry, I tried to discuss this with some religious friends, but they didn't manage to convince me that this is "bliss"! You will probably see your children every now and then (and only after they have died obviously), you can't play games (surely that would be classed as gambling), no alcohol (I'm not an addict, but I do like a good party every now and then!) and sex in heaven? Don't think I would feel comfy being surrounded by angles all the time.

So why would I want to go to heaven? Come on, believers, convince me! And before you start with the argument that you have agreed to marry that person, as far as I am concerned I agreed to one life-time of marriage, not to eternity!

PS: What happens to those people who got married twice? Will they get to keep 2 partners? Now THAT would be unfair!

So if we are one in eternity, where do the angles come from?

i can tell you what Mormons believe:
We believe a man and woman must be eternally sealed in the temple to attain the highest degree of glory, which is a place in the Celestial Kingdom. When you are sealed in the temple, there is no "til death do you part", it is an everlasting promise from the Lord that you will be with your spouse forever. If you have not been sealed in the temple, your marriage will end when you die. It will not be in force in the eternities. I am not sure why you would marry someone you didn't want to be with forever? I cannot imagine being without my husband...
Most people who have lived and will live on the earth will attain either Terrestrial or Telestial glory. In those kingdoms, which still are very wonderful (eventhough Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will not be there) the family unit does not exist, there is no increase in power, dominion, existance, knowledge, anything. Once you are there, that's pretty much it for eternity. The propet Joseph Smith saw a vision of all 3 kingdoms and said of the lowest, the Telestial, was "beyond all understanding" which means even the lowest was still beautiful, but you will not be married, have children, or be with God or Christ.
Also, about the 2 wives thing. My neighbor's mom died when he was 12, he had a younger brother who was 8. His parents were sealed for eternity in the temple. His dad remarried again and was sealed to that wife for eternity also. They then had 3 children together. Now, when it comes to "glory" time...he will be able to be with both wives because they were sealed together and will be able to be with all his children (as long as they all remain faithful to their temple covenants of course.)
Hopefully that helps.
By the way, gender is a very important part of our divine destiny and our Heavenly Father's plan, it's not just chance we are who we are.

First you need to know if you are going to heaven. Have you trusted that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins. Do you know that when He was buried He took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. If you have believed that then when you die you will get a heavenly body and receive any rewards you may have won while on earth. You will not be married in heaven The only was you will be known is by what you done for the Lord. Matthew 22: 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. 1 Corinthians 13: 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. If you reject the Lord Jesus Christ then you will send your self to hell. In Hell you will not care if you are married or not for you will be in torment.

What you have to try and understand is that you will not be the physical 'you' that you are now when you die. Neither will your partner. So a wife is not going to be sitting there in curlers watching Eastenders, and a husband is not going to want to go to the pub! You will just be your essence, your spirit. Things that matter on this physical plane, won't matter there.

Things like sex - which is of the flesh - won't be relevant in the spiritual plane. I like sex as much as any of you, but this will be a different form of existence and it won't be a part of it.

Goodness knows about people who've got married twice. I'm currently married to my 3rd husband. Please God don't make me go through eternity with hubs 1 and 2!!!!!!!!

There will be NO marriage in Heaven. When you get married it is "Till death us to part". Heaven is life not death. When you get there, if you do, you will be met by many of your relatives that have passed before you. The only way to Heaven is through Jesus and not through good deeds or good works or by living a "good" life and being kind to others. It is through Jesus and Jesus alone. If I could earn my way to Heaven by any means, what was the reason for the Lord having to come and die on the cross? I hope to see you there when I get there. Thank you for your question.

We will not be married in heaven according to the bible. There won't be any sex either, we will apparantly become sexless like the angels, but since being in heaven will be better than sex or our pathetic earthly experiences then I'm sure it's no great loss.

In Eternity the Immortal Human Race has no gender. No point really, we cannot die, so there is no reason to reproduce.

Angels are a different order of being altogether.

I like to read these answers (and ask questions) to be educated - not in the 'truth', but in Christian belief. So what's the answer? Nobody can agree! Everybody reads from the same book, and they all tell 'us' to read the book so we'll know as well, and then every answer of theirs is completely different!

when your dead your dead my freind ... my advice would be make the most of your wife and family as you will only get one shot at this !!! if not happy with your wife then get out of it and enjoy what life you have left on this planet ..... if there was a god there would not be so many wars where people die and all football teams would be equal !

In the bible it explains all that. keep on reading!

marriage is an "earthly" bond in the covenant of God- till death do us part. in eternity we are one. lifetime of marraige is for the earth as God did not want us to be alone on earth.

Why would you think you get to see any of those people? Most people are going to hell. You might not know anyone when you get there.
