Why does it matter that he was very sweet and respectful in regards to his race? are you more suprised at the fact that you have a good man or a good black man? Race shouldn't even be in the cards. Personally, I could care less if he's black, white, green, or purple.....as long as he treats u right, get yours.

Good for you. By and large interracial relationships (don't know why it's called this because we're all the same race, but anyway) are totally cool and not a problem. I do see some behavior that does worry me. I am a white girl with 4 children and every time I go out I get hit on by black men. I am with my kids and sometimes even my hubby is with us but has just gone down another isle. I wonder what is the fascination since i consider myself "girl next door/all American pretty" not anything supermodel-ish or what have you. I wonder if these guys see me as some sort of potential quest or trophy. I can almost guarantee you that if I were to take one of these men up on their offer, that it would NOT lead to any lasting relationship (assuming even if I were a single mom). I also am pretty sure that black men dating white women is a big BAD subject with black women. They really don't get this (from my limited experience w/ black women) and it angers them. Okay I don't know if I answered really or just posed more questions.

I've dated a Native Canadian, an asian, an Afro-Canadian, an East Indian girl, a few Europeans... Basically, a whole spectrum of different nationalities and skin color. So, my answer is pretty much summed up there.

See, that's the problem. As a human being he SHOULD have been nice to you for the past 3 years. But you just HAD to justify it, vindicate it, moralize it, whatever, by bringing up color. Like EVEN though he is black, he is nice to you. Insinuating that all OTHER black men who date white woman aren't.

Once again people.....I've written this a thousand times...it is not "a women"......."women" is the plural of "woman". When you're talking about ONE WOMAN, it is NOT WOMEN.

You don't even want me to answer your question. I've had too many violation emails as it is. You say he's been very sweet. Has he married you?

I think as long as your happy than it doesnt matter if your black, white, or even purple. Love doesnt know any color they would be the same person no matter what race they were and you love them because of who they are.

I don't have a problem with it, but my parents would. I know it is old fashioned, but I have not persued a relationship w/a black man because of them

Its cool with me. I think people should have the chance to like who they like. My friend went with a guy of a different race and it was one of her best relationships.

so what, who cares what we think..... as long as your happy what have you got to question? who cares what other people say or mite say.... if it is your close friends/family that have knowen you for a long time then yes take them into consideration but other wise other peoples opinion should mean as much to you as when you flush your poo down the loo...... gone and forgotten
