I would recommend that you make a vet visit with your pet.

Believe it or not, Visine is not even good for a human.

The red or "bloodshot" is because your eyes want more blood at a given time, for some specific reason like being real tired, so the blood vessels expand, and thus you look "bloodshot".

Ask your eye doctor about it. Visine is a vaso-constrictor which causes the blood vessels to constrict (get smaller) that's why the "red" goes away. It's not really good for the eye to use it.

BACK TO THE PUPPY:

Get him to a vet!!! Never, ever wait when it comes to vision. He only has one pair of eyes. It could be something as simple as an upper respiritory infection (URI) or it could be something much more serious. Only your vet can tell.

If you love your puppy, take him to a vet now!!! Please.

Well, some types of pups have this condition. You will probably need to go to the vet and get a drop from them. Some human meds have a different effect on dogs. This could also be allergies. He will need proper tests to conferm proper treatment.

NO NO NO NO
no visene, Go tot he vet,

Exspecially if it is a pure bread,
Our dog has that problem, and because she's a pure bread, ther is a lot of IN--breeding in pure's, so a lot of them come out with defects. It is very sad, but they are loveable none the less.
Our dog has an eye defect, she is about 4 yrs now, and this was discovered two years ago, the vet gave us medicine we are suposed to put in her eyes twice a day, and if we don't she WILL go blind.

So definately take your pup to a vet. It could be nothing, but it could be seriouse too.

Don't use any "people" medicine on your dog. Take your dog to the vet if you suspect an infection. If it just looks like normal "eye gunk" carefully wipe it away with a kleenex and don't get your fingers in the dog's eye.
