He is into music (plays the guitar in a band) but I can't afford to get him a new guitar. He thinks he has everything he needs. I need the gift by Saturday. Please help!

I couldn't think of anything to get my dad either; I ended up making him a slideshow, using Windows Media Player and then a couple of other programs, that had photos of our whole family from when we were really little to the present. He loved it and went around showing the whole family. If you can use some of your dad's band's songs, even better. Anything made in Windows Media Player will play on any computer with the same program, or there are a couple of other programs that will allow you to burn a DVD.

Your love is the best gift and if you can spend time with your father. A CD. sheet music and guitar pick are also good ideas.

Go to your local book store and buy him a Picture Encyclopedia of the best guitarists in the different types of music. Then put a note on the cover before wrapping it that reads, 'Happy birthday to the only guitarist who should have been on the cover'.

Dads are easy to please. He will like anything that comes from you. Don't overanalize the situation. Just get him something he will use with a hand made card. Dads like useful things and attention.
