This was the book that frightened me and everntually turned me off to Christianity (a cultish church helped.) Just curious on whether or not people believe it.

In the same respect, has anyone read Journey of Souls? Seems to be a much more peaceful and loving way of believing in a God.

I've read the Bible and it's full of contradications. There is no savior in Christ. The whole idea is just to be a good person. I don't think Christ went around asking people to get saved. He just taught us to be good to each and love God.

No I have not read that particular book...although the words would be familiar to any Christian...He did come to set the captive free...We are not free...until we are free in Christ. It is fear right now that has you bound...but you don't need to be fearful...He tells us that all through the Bible....Accept Christ and you will be under the provision of the Lord....Dear...I was once like you...sooooo afraid of the dark side....kept my head in the sand because it was so scary....but that gives Satan too much control...you just need to be set free....from many things....fear obviously being a big one...and all that can be achieved from following after Christ....There is freedom in Him dear...I do know it is difficult to find a good Church... There are Churches that claim to be of our God....but there are also those filled with the spirit of the anti-Christ (false Christianity)...Just remember, God is not the author of confusion, Satan is....and His spirit also does not oppress, it convicts...So if you are confused and fearful , and you feel oppressed in one Church, seek another Church. Don't give up...the Lord says.."Those that seek Him will find him". He will not deny you dear. Be strong.

P.S. Dear if you think all it takes is to be good...you are being decieved. It is a lie of the enemy...the Bible clearly says there is one way through the gate of Heaven...and Jesus stands in that gate...you can only enter through him...I pray you don't find this out the hard way....because that way is forever.

If the book you mentioned is from Rebecca Brown - put it into your trash can a soon as you can. It's full of lies and absolutly unbiblical. Read 1. John 4:4 and the rest of the New Testament - then, you will come to know the One who really set's the prisoners free. God bless you.

I have read it and I'm still a Christian. I can see why that book frightened you but not why it would cause you to turn your back on Christianity. It's not like God himself wrote that book.
I'm not sure what to make of it myself but I don't think it matters. In the end it's just a book that somebody wrote for whatever reason or purpose and it's not the book I built my faith upon.
The Bible is.

God to many is a father and we are his children their fore we must chose to believe what hes says is the truth in the Bible. It our own choices and behavior that makes God scary because we want to do what we want to do and get away with it. As well as not being held accountable for our behavior. But God will hold us accountable even if we don't want him to. don't you discipline your children if you have any? In privet hes is their as well and all knowing in what we are doing.
