They only give each other a quick hug daily. Would it be better to not have any physical contact? He asks to be trusted.

I am 8 only. I believe no. One should concentrate in studying. After 20 everything is good. If you are not interested in studying than you can have girl friend at any age.

Many boys start dating once they become teenagers. Fortunately, they usually date for a few weeks to a few months. Most likely, this is only a temporary girlfriend. But I would let him give her a quick hug. Telling him not to have any physical contact could possibly sound like a dare to go behind your back and possibly do worse than a hug. Have you met his girlfriend and maybe even her family? How old is the girlfriend? Do they go on dates? Try to maybe supervise them a little if they ever hang out at your house, but don't overcrowd them. Unless either one of them gives you a good reason not to be trusted, let them have their space. This relationship will probably fizzle out soon enough so I wouldn't really worry.

Well, you should trust him. If you do not trust him then he will do things just to make you mad. My brother had a girlfriend when he was little. He was 13 and now is 21 and is married to her.

No it shud NOT be.
Look how it can be! when you keep butter beside a fire place and still expect that that wont melt.
Or
when we walk on a muddy road and expect that our shoes and clothes will remain clean.
That is a misleading idea and parents should always try their hard to keep the children away from such situation until they get married.

Sure, but it depends on the person and the parent and the girl so if u trust your son and the girl it should be fine. Everyone deserves a chance .

I think it is OK to have a friend and they can be a girl but to say girlfriend leads to other ideas. Tell him it is OK to have friends. Leave the girl off the word.

No its not right. Spend time with more friends be it girls or boys and not only one. You still need a lot of exposure before you settle for one. Take it is. You have a lot of time to do that!!
