Moderate exercise is "enough" for most people. Short spurts at 10-15 minutes, 3 times a day is sufficient to help you stay healthy and will raise your metabolism more than a long period of continued exercise. Godloveya.

You should get at least 60 minutes of exercise a week. You can split this time into 3 sessions that are 20 minutes each.

My doctor said three times a week. I think that is ok if you want to maintain your weight. To lose weight I would exercise 4 to 6 times a week.

IT'S NOT HOW LONG YOU WORK OUT, BUT WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT THAT COUNTS!!! IT'S BETTER TO WORK OUT
FOR SAY 30 TO 45 MINUTES WITH SOLID INTENT THAN TO WORK YOURSELF TO THE EXTREME WERE YOU'LL GET TOO TIRED. AFTER A GOOD WORK OUT, YOU SHOULD FEEL REFRESHED AND INVIGORATED, NOT WORN OUT!!
BE GRADUAL AND PATIENT WITH YOUR WORK OUTS, IN
THE LONG RUN YOU'LL FEEL MUCH BETTER!!!
BANK ON IT!!!
