You will have to trust your heart until you learn more Spanish or he learns more English. Let your daughter answer your questions for you but I would suggest you let her make her own decisions; after all it is her own life, and her own happiness or lack of it is at the stake. Try to be happy for her and as supportive as you can; you want to keep the lines of communication with your daughter open. Good luck!

Been there, done that, my mother doesn't speak much english, and most of my bf's barely speak spanish if none at all.. and it would always be a problem. I always tried to get them to do things together, and i would always be there to mediate, kind of be a translator if you may. Try to do things together, and find out what he likes and what he's like. That usually does the trick for me :) The more time you spend with him, the more you get to see the things he's into and what his intentions are, things will most likely fall into the right places after that.

watch his body language and u can tell how he is feeling, watch how others interact with him, and watch how he eats because that will tell u a little about how he grew up. basically u have to observe him. i think that getting to know someone in this manner might actually be better than getting to know someone vervally because body language don't lie. maybe u can learn the basics of spanish, this will show him u r interested to get to know him.
