if you consider yourselves happy with your life without any sort of religion, then why do you feel the need to get on here and make the disrespectful comments. why dont you just let it go? is it because we are happy, and you want everyone to feel unhappy with you?

I'm happy without religion, but I'd be happier if the whole world didn't have a religion. My point is fighting religions to restrict the manipulation to those who want to be manipulated, and to be free from it, myself.

Actually, it goes both ways...Atheist may choose to not believe in a higher power....but they have just as much of a right to their opinion to religious questions just as anybody else..Atheist may not believe but still take a special interest in knowing many religions...I know many Atheist that have read the bible, and i have a Atheist friend that is majoring in Religion studies..Just because they do not believe does not mean the questions or answers don't apply to them....I have seen many disrespectful comments toward Atheist from Christians as well...This goes both ways..Most of the Atheist I know are actually very respectful to other peoples beliefs...

You know blondie...I'm getting fed up with people like you generalizing. I've been respectful to people who are respectful to me. I respect the fact that you are a Christian, or whatever religion. I know that it's your RIGHT to believe what you want. Why can't you understand it is also our right to not believe? Why do you have to throw all of us into one big pile of man-hating creatures!??!

I get on here to gain insight on why you believe what you want, as well as shed some realistic light on why I believe the way I do. For most of the serious, kind question-askers, I answer appropriately and kindly, explaining why I don't believe.

Then, we get people like you that are ignorant to any other ways but your own. You judge all that are different than you. You even contradicted yourself in your own question! One second, you said we consider ourselves happy, then you state that we are wanting to make you feel unhappy like us? That makes no sense!

I'm a very happy person that has lead a fantastic life after I found that there was NO god. I lived a miserable existance up until then. I was a follower, a believer, I listened to other people and tried desperately to belong.

Now, I have my own family, a house, a car, a job, and a life that I'm not afraid to live! I live it to the fullest, because I know it's my one and only. I'm not afraid to be alone, I'm not afraid to be different, and I'm not afraid to have my own thoughts and opinions.

In my opinion, you are a very weak Christian who tries to attack ALL non-believers because you feel threatened in some way. If my fellow Atheists are bringing you down to their "unhappy" level, then here is a tip. STOP READING!!! Continue insulting us with other Christian's questions, and let us do our own thing! Your God FORBID us having the freedom of speech, right?

That is an interesting discussion SiriusRisings_EvilTwin.

Do religious people expect the world to change to match their beliefs and do athiest expect to change their beliefs to match the world? That pretty much sums up the debate between evolution and creationism.

Um, to elizabethgirl. Look at the boards. There are far more postings by christians poking at athiest beliefs than there are the other way around. By your reasoning, then the christians are the unhappiest people because they provoke much more often.

Each of us came here for our own unique personal reason. Mostly because we are looking for answers no one has. Sometimes we just want to help those who are searching and frustrated know that they are not alone in feeling like if there was a god up there, he's not hearing, helping, loving, cureing, comforting, or contacting them in their time of need. No offense, but alot of the answers that are given by those who truly believe are both unhelpful, and condemning. We come in as the voice of reason and science and try to inspire them to help themselves instead of looking to the sky for an answer.
I am not happy, but that has nothing to do with the existance or lack thereof of any diety.

I'm happy as a non-Christian. I find it interesting to read what other's beliefs are. I see plenty of non-Atheists making disrespectful comments. It's how the world goes round and round...I disrespect you and you disrespect me.

It's because misbelief is a plague on mankind and the source of war and strife and bigotry and prejudice based on the delusions of ancient goatherders. You remember 9/11? That was theists, murdering people for the glory of their non-existent God. remember the gay kid dragged to death behind a pickup truck? That was theists, following the biblical mandate to kill fags. Being happy with my life doesn't mean that every harmful lie ever cooked up by delusional and superstititious pre-scientific bronze age retards gets to plague humanity unti lthe end of time. I don't care if you're happy or sad. Your beliefs are irrational and hateful and mankind will be better off without them.

Making disrespectful comments isn't limited to Atheists. It has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with the personality of the poster...like yours.

Because there is ignorance in all walks of life including, atheists, christians, muslims, jews, agnostics, etc. True happiness doesn't come with any of those. True happiness comes with tolerance, being true to yourself and others, being loving, openminded, finding the hard truth, and being humble.

No it is because the religious try to reshape the entire world to suit their beliefs. It is because I value my life and have a good life that I will fight to remove dangerous superstitions that threaten freedom.
