the person that gave the links is right , also what a lot of people forget is to reduce weight , don't take off sway bars ( that's straight line only stuff ) but there are several pounds of sound deadner in that thing , a rear seat , steel hood, glass is heavier than lexan , a.c.?, loose it , fibreglass buckets , carbon fibre doo-dads etc. etc. unless you are prepared to cage it don't take out the door beams , but you should be able to drop 300 lbs. easy .

hey in case you have the money and understand the thank you to artwork on automobiles then I nicely say do the belongings you reported as nicely do a Mustang Windstar intake replace looks cool and provides ability, a mustang 4.2l stroker equipment. The f-one hundred fifty 4.2 v6 is an identical engines merely stroke to 4.2, and put in a sparkling cam. For the rear seat delete equipment nicely thats as much as you ( i might shop it yet then i might fix up a v6 to ) yet i might upload a tube ok member and another tube chassis components, and a easy driveshaft, easy-weight flywheel, easy-weight wheels nicely all help. All of this has been achieved befor look up mustang boards and take a glance as nicely youtube. and for supercharger nicely look up a 1995 Ford Thunderbird super Coupe ford made a three.8L v6 supercharger with 230 Horsepower and 330 Torque and that become with a %. of crap intercooler that did not artwork. that comparable twelve months the v6 Mustang had one hundred forty five Horsepower and 215 Torque. specific that is downgrading chop up port to a single port even with the undeniable fact that that is outfitted for a supercharger with solid internals and you will do a 4.2l stroker equipment, a hollow new intake and relocate the intercooler with a sparkling cam. Now replace that throughout the time of to a mustang take off 500lbs off the vehicle and as you bypass that v8 you nicely nevertheless get 30 mpg on the line. specific it nicely take it sluggish and solid some $$$ yet once you have it why not. A v6 is one hundred+ lbs lighter good off the bat vs a v8. Its greater user-friendly upload horsepower then lose to weight.

I agree with the Clifford's response.
and as far as 4,6, or 8's go, the 4 has JUST as much potential as any other engine. Money Talks and B/S walks.
I would start with a set of Clifford headers, high flow cat(s) and no more than 3 inch pipes. A high flow air filter such as K&N (there are several companies that offer great filters) with a cold air intake tube is essential for power. Get the next size up (or two) throttle body/spacer.
I am not sure if any heads are available for high flow but look into it.
I also agree with subscribing to one or two mustang pubs.
That is where you are going to find vendors and information!!!
Good Luck with the pony!!!

I love my V6 too. I hate hearing about how the 6's suck. People can be such...well, we won't get into that on here. Anyway, here's some ideas.

Also, do yourself a favor and subscribe to a Mustang magazine or two. I don't know an incredible lot about my Mustang, haven't had it a year yet, but I am learning fairly quickly and am ready to do dual exhaust Magnaflow soon.
Hope it helps.

a good place to start.
don't forget the little things, like re-chipping, electric water pumps, air filters exhaust systems. this sight will help find most things you need.

if you want to take it that far, they have entire kits for the 3.8 v6 but make sure your engine is in good enough shape before buying
you can take it well over 400 hp if you want to spend the money, its all a question of money and time

There are some centrifigal superchargers (vortech, pro-charger, powerdyne) that can help you run with a stock GT. They start at about $2,000 plus install. Lower gears (3:73 maybe) are crucial and they are a couple hundred. You gotta spend quite a bit to get big performance though.

Several GREAT answers, DON'T trash the V-6. I also use items for V-6's and 4's (people don't understand how much potential they both have) from Racer Walsh in Jacksonville, Fl.

You will grow tired out of money and still have a V-6. Most of the performance parts are for us V-8 guys. Crane, Comp cams Have roller set-up for your 3.8 but it has been my experence the engine heads are not designed for high flow.
