The only factor of baby oil that makes you tan is that it is shiny and relcts more sunlight around on your skin. There is nothing actually in the oil to affect tanning/burning, its simply that it is shiny. So if your skin is not shiny, it will have no effect.
By the way, i used to tan all the time and now i have tiny wrinkles around my eyes, and little brown spots on my face and i am only 23. DONT DO IT.

you should be okay since you didnt lather it on before you went tanning. I used to work in a tanning salon and a lot of my clients asked that question. The next day they came in they said they didnt burn. But as always you should wear sunscreen no matter what!!!

I agree with Kelly, do not do it!!!
As for the oil - it does magnify the rays and so yes, you could burn.
I live in Barbados and white is good. The dark girls actually try to bleach their skin, so go figure.
The sun is VERY hard on your skin, I have freckles on my stomach now, and my stomach has NEVER even seen the sun since I've lived here.
BTW: You CAN get skin cancer from tanning beds. Check it for the warning, they are all supposed to have it on the bed somewhere.
Be happy with yourself!!

Don't add any excess tanning lotion and try to only tan for 15 minutes instead of twenty if you're in a super bed, orbit, or standing bed. If you are in a standing bed, make sure that you put your arms down every couple of minutes because your armpits are sensitive already and will burn and that ain't nothing nice.

YOU WILL SEVERLY BURN!!! PLease wear sunblock and don't go into tanning booths or beds. you are seriously putting yourself at risk for skin cancer. Skin cancer is one of the most painful and deadlist cancers.
I also love to go to the beach and I am not saying you stay inside all day and live your life in the dark, what Iam saying is toplease use sunblock, even in the winter, when in the direct sunlight for a long period of time apply sunblock every 45 minutes, and no fake tanning.

you shouldn't burn but why are you tanning in the winter? don't you know it causes skin cancer? and look at all these middle aged women that tanned all the time when they where younger. they look 20 years older than they are. it's gross looking. if you are going to tan and ruin your skin you should at least just do it in the summer when people see it. try sunless tanner.
