No---being in the bed raises your body temp. The babies temp is always a couple of degree s higher than yours. Since they cannot regulate their temp on their own yet it can be very dangerous. This is the same reason that Hot Tubs as well as taking a really hot bath or shower are out of the question when you are pregnant.
I am also a big advocate of sunblock. My husband had some skin cancer removed when he was only 24!!! Since then I always try to remind people of the importance of sun protection.
If you absolutely "have to have a tan" then there are some skin moisturizers that offer self tanners in them. These are gradual and they don't look fake. Try these or the spray on tans. Be safe for yourself and your baby.
Good luck!!!

I did a report on this in college. NO IT'S NOT SAFE!! It upsets me dearly when you see women use those beds without the protective glasses. It causes blindness and retinal damage! So if just closing your eyes doesnt protect your eyes through the skin, the baby is just as vulnerable as an eye. Tanning beds are not safe at all.

I would not suggest it. I guess its just one of those things, why take a chance? Just wait until the baby is born, you are beautiful without the tan while pregnant!

It's never safe. You're exposed to enough UV radiation by the sun. You don't need any more than that. No type of UV radiation is good for you or your skin.

Tanning in a tanning bed isn't safe when you ARE NOT pregnant, so if you are pregnant, DO NOT TAN IN A TANNING BED!

I've read about this. It's extememly unsafe for the first 3 months. After that you can go for short periods at a time. Ask your doctor for his opinion first, though.

Good luck and stay healthy!
