Why are so many people anti-Christion or atheist? Why is it that so many people afraid to commit to God? Is it that they are afraid or reluctant to give up something that they see as important in their lives? If so, whatever they think is important and fills up they're lives, is completely inferior and amounts to nothing compared to the satisfaction of haveing Jesus in your life. I hope that people will answer this question with why they are afraid or reluctant to accept Jesus and/or go to church. Church is fun! They won't force you to accept Jesus into your heart at your first visit. I encourage you to go to church and have fun, check it out, and just give it a chance. It's more fun than you think. Thank you for looking at my question, and please answer it truthfully with you're reason for going/not going to church.

I could not worship a god that allows little children to suffer and die. If this god of yours is so powerful then let him eradicate hunger and disease for little ones. Nuff said.

I have no idea why people don't accept God.
What do they think is gonna happen after death?
They'll just be stuck in the ground for eternity?
And how could they deny Christ.
I mean, just look around!!!! Look at the trees, the flowers, the sky, the people around you... how could you not think that God doesn't exist??
It's just mind boggling to me if you ask me.

God has helped me through SO MANY THINGS in my life.
He has also helped the people that I love.
I really don't know where I would be without Him.
Just knowing He is there helps me so much.

I personally don't go to church though.
It just isn't for me.
I have gone every now and then... because my friends want me to.
I just don't feel like making it an every week thing because I know God is there for me. I know God. I don't need someone preaching to me about him. I can already feel Him in my heart. And to me, that's all I need.
Another thing about church..... when people start crying outta nowhere.... for no reason. It seriously kinda freaks me out.
It just makes me a little too uncomfortable.

I know what you mean - it seems now as if believing in Christ is such a BAD thing, and it's sad, because society is suffering everywhere - nobody believes in anything, and children have no life guidelines, and nothing to look to. I'm Catholic, and I respect other religions, so I don't force Christianity down anyones throats, I just think people with no religion at all must have empty lives, I get tired of hearing many of them ridicule those who have a religion.

I find it funny how you say that Christians don't force people to believe in Jesus. Well, what are you doing right now? See, that's one thing that really bothers me about Christians. They always feel the need to shove their religion down other peoples throats. How selfish to think your religion is the only right one. Let people believe whatever it is they believe in.

My reason for going to church is that I want a closer relationship to GOD. I don't want to burn forever or anything like that. I want to live forever in Heaven and kneel at the feet of God.

I know! (I go to church every weekend, BECAUSE I choose to, NO ONE MAKES ME!) People have to have something to believe in. Or they just don't understand. (How they can believe in nothing is beyond me!) My dad believes in taoism or the journey to enlightment, like Buddhism. And me, being a christian, I see his point, but to me mine makes more sense and to him, his makes more sense.

I even work at ccd at my church!

I'm not going to church because I'm a secular Jew. I believe in myself, and that's good enough.

I'M NOT SURE WHY SO MANY PEOPLE ARE ATHEIST THESE DAYS. HAVING MY FAITH HAS GOTTEN ME THROUGH SOME PRETTY TOUGH TIMES, WITHOUT IT I WOULD BE SCARED OF WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. PEOPLE ARE QUICK TO HAVE FAITH IN THE SUPERNATURAL, UFO'S, ETC...BUT WHY IS IT THAT WHEN IT COMES TO RELIGIOUS FAITH PEOPLE ARE SO UNWILLING TO BELIEVE.
