What happened? Has your life changed? What did you learn from it?

Feel free to email me with longer answers if you want to. Having had an NDE myself, I'm very interested in this.

Yes. During surgery. And I can say, as an avowed atheist, that there was no proof of god or an afterlife. Nothing happened, as amazing as it all was, that proves it was anything more than a brain event due to trauma and powerful drugs. It was nice and all, and a little disturbing at points, but hardly proof of anything. To this day I hold most of the details private. But even if it was a "real" event, there was no being who could be considered "God" and Jesus didn't appear. On the other hand, dead friends were there. So go figure. Seems very subjective, doesn't it? If Christianity were literally true, God would HAVE HAD to have been there, and Jesus. AND I would have experienced a hell-type NDE since I am a heretical atheist and a militant homo. But it was completely positive, except for the going back into my body part.

The religious know nothing about the afterlife, they just pretend to. Neither do I for sure, but the difference between me and the religious is that I am aware of my ignorance.

Yes. I coded in the ER when I was 22. I don't remember any tunnel or lights, just a godawful screeching that I'm pretty sure (in retrospect) was the EKG flatlining.

As to what I learned, I learned to be more circumspect about certain aspects of my life. There are some things it's just not worth taking a beating for.

Yes, I have. I had to have 1/2 of my liver taken out & I'm allergic to morphine. A warning of this was on both of my wrist & over my bed but what did a stupid nurse do? Yes, she gave me morphin in my pain pump. Well, lets just say its a miracle that I'm here.
