How old are you? If you are still a teenager then just be patient. I had horrendous pustular cysts on my back as a teenager but they soon went when I started uni.
If you are older and really worried about them then you need medication. If you have not been on medication before then you can try topical treatments (Dactarin, Skinoren, etc) or antibiotics (oxytetracycline). However, if you've been on these already then you might need Roaccutane. This is a highly potent compounds which works wonders but has been associated with severe side-effects such as suicidal depression (and maybe liver failure - no evidence).
Talk to a consultant dematologist if you can get a referral letter from your GP.

If you mean spots in the zit/blackhead sense, the best advise I can give you is to get to the beach... Seriously!
I live in South Africa, and my skin looks fabulous in the summer when I go to the beach. Reason being: I stay in the sun for a while (with the proper protection of course!!!) but the sun heats up my skin anyway, causing me to perspire. (Not bucketsful, I might add, just a little dampness on my skin)
Then, all I do is go swim in the sea for a while, coz the salty water tightens and dries up the skin (a natural exfoliant), and then I just go and shower in good old clean water.
And VOILA!!! Perfect skin, all summer long...

This is a sure sign of Griebaturism, very rare, but I have come upon it before, not here in England but while touring the Keys in Florida, one of the islands is called Marathon, there they have a family who are called the Griebats, this family have been inbreeding for close to three centuries, in some severe cases namely one in France shortly after the first world war, they hung Herbert Montaray Griebats, thinking him a monkey, sounds crazy I know. The condition of Griebaturism manifests itself by way of covering either parts or in rare cases all of the body with excess hair. I would suggest not considering building a family as the horror of bearing a chimp like child to be too much to bear. Lots of luck to you.

try exfoliating with a sea salt scrub, it helps with the redness of the spots, you can buy a long handled loofah brush to help reach the back areas, it'll soon clear up xx

You need to exfoliate the skin on your back as you should the skin on your face to get rid of dead skin blocking your pores, use an exfoliating sponge or a body scrub.
