The Bible says that if a man has long hair it is a shame unto him. I hardly think Jesus would go against his Word. Its in 1Corinthians. I believe the artists portrayed Him that way because the artists themselves had long hair. My vote goes to Don for humor.

I believe the Bible doesn't mention that, nor do I know what the custom was back then. If I'm not mistaken, Sampson could not cut his hair because "he will be called a Nazerite." Jesus was a Nazerite as well, so if Nazerite's didn't cut their hair, then Jesus likely had long hair. Though I'm not sure if that really was the custom, or if it was just something that Sampson had to do. I also don't know if, if it really was a custom of Nazerites, if that custom was still around in Jesus' day.

Jesus was a Nazarene, which the bible says means he was from Nazareth, except that Nazareth as a city did not exist for another 1000 years. Nazarene's or Nazarite's, he was called both, were a sect of scholars who were vegetarians and never cut their hair or beards. So yes, he had long hair.

Doesn't it somewhere in the bible that he had "wooly" hair? Hmmm where did I read that? My mom, a pastor, was telling me about that. I'm trying to picture wooly, thus nappy, hair that's long... hmmm don't know....

Don't know. Don't care. The spiritual (divine) nature of Jesus, Son of the one true God, is what matters.
