I am going down to New Orleans for Thanksgiving and I was wondering what things look like there now? Is everything opened back up?? Are there things to do?

Most tourist things are open. The French Quarter and the Garden District didn't get damaged at all. If you want to party, go to the French Quarter. For old houses and nice restaurants, go to the Garden District. Also, check out down by the riverfront, where there are boat trips and a big shopping area.

Here's the official New Orleans tourism site: http://www.neworleansonline.com/

(btw, Nettel, the mayor of New Orleans is a Republican -- not that that really matters anyway)

Not everything is opened back up (Except most of the French Quater) but we have come a long way. You can still see miles and miles of descruction. SOme houses are totally remodeled and some haven't been touched since Katrina. The good news is all the cars and boats are out of the trees. (YES there were cars and boats in trees) There's plenty to do after all it is still NO.

Down town is back up and kicking. Expect alot of traffic. You can go to destroyed places and sight see,or just go party in the French Quarter. French market is really cool too. Metairie and west bank is very busy, and watch yourself. Bad crime.
