Yes, when drunk excessively.

It causes little crystals to form in the blood, a little like glass fragments. They then try and pass through joints like your knees, fingers and toes... when it reaches a joint where they cant pass through they get blocked up and create gout!

I'll have a pint if your off to the bar!

not sure if it's the cause but it definitely adds to it. My step-dad had gout for years and it was directly involved with all his drinking. Ever since he quit drinking NO GOUT

Yes it does. My son's dad drank excessive amounts of beer and got gout at 30 years old. Doctor explained it to him.

Yes certain alcoholic drinks can cause gout..... Gin and vodka are the big ones... Port also can aid and abet gout

Yes it is a contributing factor... not the only one, but it definitely hurts the condition.
