Hi, I am a stay at home mom. I'm nineteen, live with my boyfriend, and obviosly have no form of income.
I was wondering if anyone knows how i would go about filing for financial aid? I live in Mass and would really like to go to college beacause my son is almost 6 months and I think its time for me to do something with my life.
Anyone know what to do?

The best place to go is to the school's or college's financial aid office to see what programs that they have for stay at home moms and if they have a child care facility willing to take your son. However, there are several sources for financial aid to help you on your schooling quest. I recommend keeping the load light at about six credits because your son is young. All of the resources I have mentioned are free to use.

First, FAFSA.ed.gov will help you tap into need based financial aid with both the federal government and the school/college itself. You having a son can help you become independent in the government's eyes to money not based on your parents' income.

Second, 35 states have a website devoted to both college admissions and applying for state college scholarships which can be located on Google.com and Yahoo.com. If your state is one of the 15, I recommend searching your state government's website for college grants. Almost all states have college grant programs.

Third, your college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships available from companies and organizations.

Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. Most are updated on a regular basis. All have customized searches based on the information you place in it.

Good luck!
