His Holiness Benedict XVI, before his election Cardinal Josef Ratzinger, is German. He's a highly respected theologian and a man whose lifestyle is austere. He's very exacting, ver kind, very funny when he's with people he knows well. Not as gregarious as John Paul II he still has plenty of charisma.
