practice practice practice.
heres a rundown, buy a bqt of roses, babies breath, greens, and floral tape (stem tape).
start with one rose in your hand, surround it with babies breath, surround with four more roses, andd more babies breath, keep adding in roses and babies breath, make it round and even, with even amounts of babies breath between the roses and on each side. surround with greens. use the stem tape to wrap the stems, starting at the top and go about half way down (you kind of have to pull the tape as you wrap it, it makes it stick together) cover the tape wioth pretty ribbon, secure it with straight pins
and practice this till you like the look

A few tips (that I learned while working in the floral dept. at Michaels in high school)
-Use an ODD number of stems. This is very, very important to giving the arrangement or bouquet a natural look. I know it sounds weird, but trust me!
-Make sure that the colors are similar in tone--so if you use pastel yellow and want blue, use a pastel blue. There are exceptions, but as a general rule you want to use all jewel tones, all pastels, all bright tones, etc.
-Leave stems exposed at the bottom so you can put it in a vase
-Use pearl pins to affix ribbon to the stems
-I wouldn't use pure silk ribbon or other material that could spot or discolor when in contact with water. Test first!
-Do a trial run with cheaper versions of real flowers or use silks.
-Sam's Club can order bulk flowers for you
-Make sure the size is proportionate to you and your dress. Try on your dress and hold your trial-run bouquet to make sure they look good together.
Hope this helps!

Just and FYI- be careful.....
You really need to have proper cooling/fridge even in the car....
My girlfriend (I was a bridesmaid) had a huge fancy wedding and her step-mother insisted on doing the flowers. Well, it was all fine and dandy until we drove them over to the church and due to the heat- they all opened up and wilted. It was crazy... we had to throw them all out and just use the filler (other flowers in the bouquets!! Saving the half way decent ones for her bouquet which looked horrible. All that money for the actual wedding and her flowers looked like crap.
Just be careful!!

you don't have to pay for a class it is so easy...go pick up a bunch of cheap artificial roses, and cheap ribbon. practice til you get what you want. once you have your bouquets the way you like them, keep them .................... when you are ready to do your fresh flower bouquets then simply copy our artificial ones!
your local florist can tell you the best way to keep your flowers looking fresh throughout your wedding day!
have a wonderful wedding!
