Whether or not you can get into trouble, you need to figure out what's best for this little girl.

You could certainly get into trouble if the mom spins a different story of why you have this girl. Also-- if you were to leave this child alone you could be guilty of endangerment-- she's not old enough to look after herself.

However, I don't believe you have a "duty" or reponsibility to report the rape, as someone above suggested. Unless you are an employee of the state, are a social worker, doctor or attorney, no such duty exists. That said, it's not a bad idea-- however, if you follow my advice, the police will certainly be involved anyway.

Your best move is to call child protective services in your state to advise them of this situation. While not a perfect agency, they generally mean well, and will try to protect this girl from being in harm's way. This is not your problem, and you should not put yourself in a bad situation just because this little girl is in one.

YOU CAN GET INTO A LOT OF TROUBLE! What you need to do is call the police and report the rape! You have to make a statement to the authorities. If not, you're just like an accessory to the fact. The fact that you knew about the rape and didn't report it AND the girl is a MINOR! The time you took to write us and tell us about this you could have been on the telephone reporting a felony! I know I would have had the police kicking his damn door in. Either send that child home and still make the call. Or keep her with you and make the call.

1., i hope you took the 10-year old to the hospital for a rape kit and the STD Killer Cocktail. It would be a shame if this man infected this little girl with any disease. Also, if this girl has started her period, then the possibilty of preganancy is also a factor to consider.

2. Did you report this crime to the police?

3. Where is her brother?? (Your exbf) Where is her father?? Her grandparents???

4. if the mom reports her daughter as a runaway, then you can be charged with harboring a minor.

I suggest you call children services, this child is better off with a family member, who will can keep her mother and her mother's bf away from her. If the mother had any knowledge of the rape without her daughter telling her and she did nothing to stop it, she can be charged with a crime.

Please help this child. there are children advocates inyour state thaat can help!!

call the cops report the exbf's mom and the bf, call family and children's services if you can get temporary custody or become her temp foster parent. you could get arrested for kidnapping if the mom and exbf get ticked. beat them to the punch call the cops on them first, this 10yo does not need to be around scumbags like that. she will have a medical exam that will prove he raped her and they will take her statement and protect her, you'll be able to visit her if they choose a different foster home but anything is better than living with those two.

I dont think you will get into any trouble for taking her in, but you have to report the rape to the police, or you could get into some touble for not doing it. She is a child and needs someone to protect her. Do whats right and go to the police so this sick bastard can be put away.

You could get into a lot of trouble because the girl is only 10, I would call the police and Social Services and let them handle it... it definitely needs to be investigated.. but it was certainly good of you to take her in..

I don't think YOU are going to get into trouble. It's the mother. If the girl was kicked out then you are just helping. You should turn in the mom's boyfriend!!!!!!

Talk to someone you trust and see if you can adopt her ... or get her adopted by your folks ... also get her a restraining order against him if you can prove it ... otherwise you will appear to be crying wolf ... which is probably why she was kicked out ... lack of proof.

Get this girl help ... she is too young.

Your being 18 might make it easy for you but check your local laws.

Good Luck!

It is a possibility that you can get charged with kidnapping the best thing you can do is to take the girl to the police station to report the crime and during the investigation she can be put in foster care that way you cover your *** and help her
