*I have sort of thin hair and I straighten it every day. The ends stick out and look really ugly. What hair styling products are best for protecting hair from damage but also smooth the ends?

BioSilk. You can get it in most salons, and some might even give you a sample for free. Any of the Farouk Chi products are good. The silicone will smooth your problems out, and protect your hair from heat damage.

If you have the money- search for an excellent licensed cosmetologist to have Japaneses Hair Straightening!! It will change your life! If you have chemically treated hair, you will need to find a cosmetologist that is trained with Bio-ionics- http://www.bioionic.com/ You will read testimonials. FIND A NEARBY SALON & I guarantee will make you want to have this done. Price range here in Virginia ranges between $600-$1000+ depending on the length of your hair. It is costly, but extremely effective. Find a reputable salon, they should offer free consultations! You can look up a location nearest you by zip code =)

If your looking for a cheaper solution, purchase ionic shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer and flat-iron. MAKE SURE THEY ARE IONIC!! Ion technology has been proven to be effective more so than general hair products to protect and change the charge in your hair that will produce shine, strength and reduce frizzy hair. Before becoming a cosmetologist I used harmful straighteners on my hair that caused it become straight frizzy unruly and now after having the Bio-ionic treatment I have silky smooth shiny straight hair. Everyone tells me how beautiful it is.

Go to Sally's if you don't have the money and request for them to show you ionic products. Also, purchase Bio-silk (get from CVS or Walgreens now-- or local salon) hair serum it's clear like an oil, before hair spraying your due; place pea size amount and rub on hands, distribute evenly-- MY FAVORITE LIFESAVING PRODUCT. Carry this around in your bag and say goodbye to frump girl!

pantene works well, due to the fact that the conditioner actually leaves a slight build-up on your hair shaft...it kinda coats it until you wash it again...also ic by fantasia makes a lot of good treatments, and they have a great serum that you use before your flat iron that makes hair shiny and manageable...but also remember that you have to do regular treatments and condition each time you wash your hair...evp3 treatments are great...

Kiehl's heat protecting, straightening serum would work wonders for your hair. You can buy this from Nordstrom or on line.
