There is no almighty God in Buddhism. There is no one to hand out rewards or punishments on a supposedly Judgement Day. Buddhism is strictly not a religion in the context of being a faith and worship owing allegiance to a supernatural being. ( now accepting applications from all non-believers)

Yes, Buddhism is atheistic as it has no god figure. Buddha is viewed only as a prophet and their view of reincarnation is controlled by a universal force, not a conscious being.

I think you need to read the definition of religion. here is one.But there are many definitions. To put it bluntly in order to be a religion it has to be faith based and have rituals or a search for a higher meaning. It has nothing to do with truth. And a God or higher being is not required.

Buddha said that he could not tell us if there was a god or not. That was up to us to decide. So you can be a Christian Buddhist. Some Buddhists believe in a god, some don't. It can be either a religion or a philosophy, depending on the way you practice it.

Buddhism is a philosophy-a way of life. A person who is a Buddhist may, or may not, believe in G-d. He may follow the Buddhist ideals, and still belong to a religion, as well.

It is a way of life------one that alot of Christians should understand and adhere to.

No.
Buddhism is all about Karma and Peace; it is NOT about punishment to the sinful.
