no..getting your appendix out doesn't make your tummy fat, now if the doctors were to remove your colon that might do it.

My appendix was removed and yes, I was a little flabby for awhile. Give it time to heal, then start in on crunches or pilates - it will go away, but it will take some work anytime the muscle has been cut.

I'm not sure if they remove your appendix by laproscopic surgery but if they do they have to pump air into your stomach and there is always some left over. I had laproscopic surgery and my stomach looked like that too for a few days. It will go away.

I call it the baby carriage. More room for whenever you go to have kids, less stretch marks too. I've never heard of that, but then again, I had mine removed when I was 16. I never was one with a flat stomach and the muscles do tend to be a little weaker there because they are cut, but it's nothing crunches won't cover. I've still got a little pudge there, but I don't let it worry me.

I doubt that your weight gain is related to your appendix removal. Face it, it's time to start dieting.

Mine did the same thing, but I just chalked it up to a confluence of post-operative inflammation/swelling, weight gain due to inactivity during my recovery, and genes/aging (my dad's got a belly.)

Ask your dr.

Well you're inactive, so it may be hard to loose weight. Maybe there is some internal swelling, have you had a check-up?
