sida is spanish for AIDS sometimes it refers to HIV, it's a problem because more and more people have been diagnosed with it

Sida is Aids in Spanish and French. Aids would have been problematic a couple of decades ago when Spain was thought of as very religious. Not any more.

It is problematic everywhere. There is no cure for it, and it has tremendous tremendous social, medical and psychological implications. SIDA in Spanish means AIDS.

SIDA is Spanish for AIDS. The most important misunderstanding about HIV and AIDS is that just because you are diagnosed with HIV does not mean it has to become AIDS. If you do not expose yourself to repeated infection, there is much less chance of HIV becoming AIDS. Many people do not know this; and either give up and repeatedly expose themselves, or as in Africa, believe false rumors that sex with virgins will cure it, thus spreading the disease. There are ways to prevent mothers from passing HIV to their children. All this requires extensive public education and outreach to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS related death.
