My hair is long, thin and straight and cut i nto long layers.I style it with a curling iron to get loose waves and curls. I made the mistake 2 weeks to have a body perm put into thinking that i would be able to spend less time on it with the curling iron.BIG MISATAKE. Now my hair is shorter becasue the perm shorten it and also a trim. It has the texture of a broom, is breaking off like crazy. It is too curly. It looks ok if i take the time to use the crlilng iron on it, to straiten and give the curls some definition. Before when i dried it it felt very soft , shiny and healthy looking. Now its frizzy, looks like broom straw and is dry. What can i put on it to bring back that silky texture? What can i use to make the perm go away? How can I keep it from breaking? I am not cutting my hair.

First things first, stop using blow dryers, curling irons and stuff like that on your hair for a little bit. You hair is extremely dry and you are making it worse by doing that. You perm is not going to come out until it completely grows out. The curls may get looser so they are not so curly. Use deep conditioners for color treated/Permed hair to put back the moisture you lost.

Good Luck

buy infusion which is a vitamin based moisturizer. Next time you get a perm- get it done by a professional. I learened the hard way and the same thing that 's happening with your hair was happening with mine. Give it a few months before you can do aything else to it- you've damaged your hair alot. Give yourself about 3 months before you can do any iother kind of treament again. Take oral vitamins and vitamins for your hair from thermansilk, l'oreal etc. Target carries all this stuff

I highly suggest Kerastase Nuritive Serum. This is the best thing that you could do for your hair now. It is expensive, but it is totally worth it. Go on ebay and you may be able to get it for a cheaper price. Rub a little bit of this into your hair is damp and then when your hair is dry, use a little bit more. You will be amazed of the results.

Try John frieda products they work miracles....you will have to be patient and give your hair time to grow out, then cut it to the length you like until it is fully restored. This will take a while, so in the meantime use frizz ease products to soften your hair...trust me you will love it!! Also use deep conditioners in your hair, I prefer using dove shampoo plus, while also using a separate conditioner as well, with the focus being on the more dry spots....

Dry hair makes frizzy hair, so always deep condition after a wash. Use gel and a wide-tooth comb, and air dry only. Never brush!

Try using Alberto V05 hairdressing, slick your hair back with it , and sleep with a towel on your pillow overnight.
In the morning wash it out, and see if it makes a difference
