My husband was told by the doc to lose weight to improve his health. What are some good ideas for me to fix for dinner. Since he is a meat and potatoes kind of man, this will be a big change for him. Thanks.

A good way to cover the potatoes part is by making some Mashed Cauliflower Florets:

1 Whole Cauliflower Head - cut into chunks
Any kind of Low-Fat toppings for potatoes

Boil cauliflower florets until tender. Mash cauliflower and add milk, butter, sour cream or whatever you would like to add. Very good and tastes just like mashed potatoes.

grilled chicken and salad/ meat is still good but lay off the potatoes make them an occasion try steamed veggies and brown rice etc Internet has allot of choices i would make a list of what he will and absolutely won't eat (see if there room for compromise) and check that list against potential foods on the net

Grilled chicken, fish etc.

Potatoes aren't bad for you, it's the oil and grease that are put on them in the form of butter or fried in oil that are bad for you!

You can put salsa on them, or you can make your own chili (controlling the fat content) and put the chili on the potato. Also, switch to non fat sour cream.

Go shopping together and try some new foods--remember, the darker or more vibrant color the better for you! Spinach, asparagus, broccoli, etc are wonderful for you!

portion control on meat,, the palm of your hand is a helping of meat, no tators,, lots of greens, salads,, no ranch dressing,

chicken , fish , you can substitute ground turkey in every burger recipe, and add tofu to the salad for protein, tofu has no flavor so you can fry it and put whatever you want for taste in it,
